Q &A and Discussion
moderated by Jonathan Bird,City Gate Leadership Forum
At our last Roundtable we focused on how to foster collaboration within the Christian community as a whole. This time we’re looking specifically at how congregations can partner deeply and well.
True City (www.truecity.ca) is a growing group of churches in the Hamilton area which began working together in 2004 for the good of their City. They are churches committed to
• authentic involvement in their own neighbourhoods and in the City as a whole
• real cooperation with other churches on specific projects which express their shared calling to be a blessing to Hamilton.
Discover
• What led these churches to covenant together “for the shalom of the city”
• What enables missional unity in the midst of denominational diversity
• How focus teams drawn from different churches are creating resources and opportunities for specific areas of ministry, from church planting to the arts to refugees
• How True City churches are beginning to engage the nonprofit, business, and government sectors in Hamilton
• How congregations have been blessed as they bless their neighbours and each other
