Earlier this year,the Greater Vancouver Regional Steering Committee on Homelessness (RSCH) adopted a Political Action Kit to help raise the priorities of our community during democratic processes in Metro Vancouver. As we head to a provincial election in mid-May,we believe that individuals and local homeless planning and support groups will find the Kit particularly useful in engaging our political representatives in meaningful discussion of the issues during the campaign. The Kit examines some of the key homelessness issues in Metro Vancouver,our community-inspired solutions,the known positions of the provincial and federal political parties that are active in BC,and questions that could be posed to candidates and parties during the election campaign.
The RSCH encourages your organization and membership to use the Kit to guide your contacts with candidates and political parties not just during the upcoming provincial election campaign,but also after the election.
